Berneen is a Durban-born actor, musician, and performing artist. Her passion for both music and acting have grown alongside each other in a career spanning over 10 years.

Berneen has appeared as both lead and supporting actor in a number of Lithuanian drama and reality TV shows.

She is the founder of Not A Robot Entertainment, a production company focusing on music videos and developing independent feature films. She is currently working on her debut solo album as well as developing several film projects.

Berneen joined Ryan as festival director in 2018 and was one of the key elements in making the 2019 edition such a success.

Ryan is a Cape Town-based director and actor who has been making movies since he was 14 years old. As a winner of SAMA, MTV and GOEMA awards, Ryan is widely celebrated for his outstanding work as a music video director.

Having directed dozens of internationally-acclaimed short films, Ryan is known for his distinct visual style and character-driven stories.

He has recently completed his first independent feature film, FRIED BARRY, which is slated for release in 2020.
Ryan is the founding member of SA INDIE FILM FEST and has worked tirelessly since 2017 in developing and growing the event.

Before forming his production company – The Department of Special Projects – at the age of 25, James cut his teeth on producing marketing content for studios such as Sony Pictures, Paramount and Netflix.

James’s work on the 2016 documentary ROOTS: A NEW VISION helped garner the film an Emmy nomination and NAACP Image Award.

He has since focused on producing indie films on the cutting edge of narrative with his first feature, FRIED BARRY.
He is currently based in Cape Town, South Africa and is writing and developing his second feature
film slated to complete in 2020.

James joined the festival at the end of 2017 and has managed every edition since its inception.
